After the season ended there were six or eight teams that thought they could make a real run at getting LeBron James this offseason. It seemed to trickle down to four with the Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets. Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers all figuring to be players.

It appears now that that list has dwindled to only two teams. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, it's down to the Lakers and the Cavs, and that he didn't see it working out in Philadelphia for LeBron.

He also said that James is planning on making his decision in “The Decision Cave” where he will decide with his friends and closest advisors.

The Sixers still have the cap space to get James, but there really hasn't been much buzz the last few weeks about James having much interest there.

The Rockets really don't have the cap space with James opting out to get the Cavs superstar, so they are all but out of this race.

If James would have opted into the contract, it would have actually been bad news for his return to the Cavs. It would have probably meant that there was a trade in place with another team, and his time in Cleveland would be coming to an end. With James opting out it seems to mean there is at least a chance that James could return to the “the land.”

A lot of the decision could also come down to if the Lakers are able to land either Kawhi Leonard or Paul George.
