The Boston Celtics have continued to pile up wins after getting by the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night for their 13th straight win, which has made them the first team to win 13 consecutive games after an 0-2 start.
This has also propelled them to the best mark in the league to which former All-Star big man Al Horford voiced that he doesn't believe there is a limit to how good the team can be, according to Scott Souza of Metro Daily News.
Boston has chugged along this season even without the services of All-Star forward Gordon Hayward, who suffered a season-ending broken leg in the season opener. Instead, the Celtics have had the fortune of young promising talent in second-year guard Jaylen Brown and rookie forward Jayson Tatum both striving in expanded roles.
Meanwhile, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has slided smoothly into the top scoring role in his first campaign with the Celtics. There is also a vast improvement defensively as Boston currently holds the top scoring defense at 94.5 points allowed per game at a league-best 42.9 percent shooting from the field. In fact, they have held opponents to under 100 points 12 times this season.
Things should continue to trend in the same direction with the Celtics already finding their identity behind their young and talented roster. With the Cleveland Cavaliers struggling to start the season, Boston has the makings to potentially be a serious threat to dethrone them in the Eastern Conference.
