The Boston Celtics dealt the Miami Heat a gut-wrenching loss in Game 7 of the 2022 NBA Eastern Conference Finals down in South Beach, but credit must still be given to the best East team in the regular season. For one, they have a really classy head coach in Erik Spoelstra, who had nothing but pleasant things to say about the Celtics following the defeat, even showing full appreciation of how Boston survived all the tough tests in its journey to the NBA Finals.

Via Taylor Snow of Celtics.com:

Spoelstra on Boston's Finals berth: “They've probably done it the way that it's supposed to happen in this league: you build a team, you have frustrating losses, you stay together, keep your core together, keep your culture together, and then you eventually find a breakthrough.”

It's been a while since the Celtics, one of the most storied franchises in the NBA, have reached this far. Prior to 2022, the last time Boston made it to the grandest stage of the league was back in 2008, with the triumvirate of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce as the team's core. After that, the Celtics had to endure several shortcomings in the playoffs.

But here are the Celtics again, just four wins away from having yet another championship parade in Beantown.
