It is no secret that the Boston Celtics have dealt with their fair share of struggles in the 2018-19 NBA season. Fortunately, head coach Brad Stevens indicated that center Aron Baynes could be nearing a return to the court.

Baynes suffered a foot injury prior to the all=star break. Stevens says he will be day-to-day come next week, via the team's official website:

Aron Baynes (foot contusion) will hopefully be day-to-day after this week, says Brad Stevens.

This is certainly an encouraging update for Baynes. The big man has been seemingly dealing with injuries throughout the season. There is no question that his presence has been heavily missed by this struggling Boston team.

Baynes has been one of the unsung heroes amidst the Celtics disappointing season. His presence in the paint plays an integral role as the anchor on defense. He has also been able to expand his skill set by adding the deep ball to his repertoire. Prior to this season, he had gone 4-for-29 from the three-point line during the regular season. He has already managed to hit 11 of 23 attempts in his limited playing time this season.

Baynes has already indicated that he would like to return to the lineup as soon as possible. However, it is clear that the Celtics are taking a cautious approach with his recovery. It appears Boston is hoping to have him as healthy as possible for the postseason. Regardless, the team will need all the help they can get down the stretch if they hope to secure a favorable seed in the playoffs.
