After locking in a career-high six blocks against the Charlotte Hornets, Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter feels he should be the league MVP.

He's joking of course.

In their 109-92 win, Enes Kanter also had 13 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists. This marks the 27-year-old's third double-double for the season — a noteworthy achievement since he achieved it as a reserve. For the season, he's averaging 8.4 points and 7.5 rebounds across 17.5 minutes per game.

Kemba Walker has praised the energy that Kanter brings every single game. Walker admits that the entire team loves to shoot. And they appreciate the fact that they have a big man who's willing to get that offensive rebound for them.

“We all love shooting, so we’re gonna keep shooting, and he’s gonna try his best to get those offensive rebounds” Walker said with a smile after the game, per Celtics reporter Marc D'Amico. “That’s the kind of guy he is, man. You have to love bigs like that.”

Apart from the Turkish big man, other Celtics players had a productive night in their New Year's eve victory. Jayson Tatum led the game with 24 points, Walker had 22 points and seven assists, while Gordon Hayward added 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Celtics now have a 23-8 record for second place in the East. They have won seven of their last 10 games. After facing the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, they'll head on to a two-game road trip to face the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards.

The Hornets, meanwhile, had a total of six players in double figures in points. PJ Washington had 15 points, Miles Bridges had 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Devonte' Graham and Dwayne Bacon had 10.
