Jaylen Brown gave it his all for the Boston Celtics during their season opener against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately with the game extending to double-overtime, he just didn't have enough gas left.

With that said, the young Celtics star found himself on the wrong end of a Shaqtin' a Fool moment with a botched dunk in the second overtime of the contest. Midway though the second OT, Brown was able to steal the ball on their side of the court, giving him a clear path to the basket for what should have been an easy dunk.

However, having played over 44 minutes at that point, exhaustion caught up with the 24-year-old swingman. He didn't have the jump to finish the dunk, as his shot bounced off the rim.

That's got to be frustrating for Jaylen Brown, especially missing at that point in the game. Had he made the shot, the Celtics would have extended their lead. Who know, it might have caused the Knicks to panic and fully shift the momentum in their favor.

In the end, the Knicks came out on top with a 138-134 win, opening the season with a W just the way they wanted it to be.

As for the Celtics and Brown, they can't do anything but learn from the defeat. Jayson Tatum simply can't afford to take a backseat and let Brown do all the work if they want to compete among the best in the NBA. Jaylen finished with 46 points in 46 minutes of play, while Tatum made 20 in the same span.
