Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving threw what was supposed to be Jamal Murray's game ball into the stands in disgust over the latter's last-second shot in a game that was all but over. Murray had 48 points in the dying seconds of the Denver Nuggets' 115-107 win over the Celtics, and he attempted a last second 3-pointer in an attempt to get over the 50-point mark. While Irving was fuming hot over Murray's attempt, teammate Jaylen Brown wasn't all too mad about it, per Tom Westerholm of MassLive.

These were pretty calm statements from Brown since some of his teammates didn't appreciate what Murray did to cap off his career game. Perhaps he was just reserving a little bit of love for his fellow 2016 NBA draft peer, who came four spots below him. Or maybe, if he was in that situation, he'd probably go for it as well.

With the game out of reach, there was no need for Murray to pad on the lead. But he didn't want to let the chance of scoring 50 points slide, and he took his crack at it with one last long-range bomb.

Nonetheless, Murray played out of his mind in the fourth quarter by scoring 19 of his career-best 48 points. He shot 19-of-30 from the field, knocked down five triples, and converted on his five freebies from the free-throw line.

Jaylen Brown, on the other hand, had a decent outing himself, though it was a far cry from Murray's career night. In 28 minutes, Brown notched 15 points and four rebounds on 7-of-14 shooting.
