Jayson Tatum is having a memorable offseason. Weeks after signing a five-year, $195 million contract extension with the Boston Celtics, the 22-year old also celebrated a momentous occasion: the birthday of his son Deuce, who turned three on Sunday.
Tatum, a first time All Star and All-NBA Third Team member last season, posted pictures of his son on Instagram along with a heartwarming message for his special day:
Deuce Day! Big 3! Happy birthday lil man daddy love you more than anything in the world! Couldn’t be more blessed to be your dad and thankful for you inspiring me to be a better person for you! No better feeling than being with you my right hand man forever 🤞🏽❤️
Deuce is no stranger to Celtics fans, and has himself gathered a large following. Tatum is also no stranger to posting on social media about his son, as he previously had an emotional reunion with him at the NBA Bubble after not seeing him for months when Boston was playing the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Tatum's adorable three-year old has also shown his support for his father numerous times, even staying past his bedtime to watch the Celtics play in the Bubble and making an appearance as a virtual fan to cheer for his father. The Celtics star also showed that he can spend quality time with his son even when he is away, as he memorably read a classic bedtime story virtually before his son went to sleep.
It's clear that the love between father and son runs deep, and with Tatum staying in Boston for the foreseeable future, fans can expect Deuce to be a fixture in Celtics games, whether virtually or from the stands once he is able to.
