After a sluggish start to the season, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has caught fire by going for 30 or more points in four consecutive games. That includes a 30-point effort in Monday's blowout victory over the lowly Houston Rockets.

Celtics legend Bill Russell took notice of Tatum's hot streak and made sure to show the youngster some love. Tatum saw the praise and was honored:

Tatum's resurgence after his slow start has Boston looking formidable once again in the Eastern Conference. While the Celtics lost the first game of Tatum's streak to the Atlanta Hawks, they followed that up by destroying the Los Angeles Lakers in LeBron James' first game game, which Russell saw in person. Boston then followed that up by taking care of business against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Rockets.

Tatum is now averaging 25.7 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 41.2% from the field and 33.3% from 3-point range. He still needs to get that efficiency up, and he was just 1-of-9 from 3-point range on Monday, but he's showing great progress after his early struggles.

The Celtics are now 10-8 on the season, which is good for sixth in the East. This after they started the season just 2-5. With the team getting healthy (Jaylen Brown returned on Monday), Boston is primed to continue its move up the standings.
