In an interview with ESPN, Jayson Tatum says he loves playing for the Boston Celtics and wants to spend his entire career with the franchise.

After Anthony Davis requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans, Tatum's name came up in trade rumors. Boston can't trade for Davis until the summer because of the Rose Rule, and many believe the organization will offer up Tatum, Jaylen Brown and their bevy of draft picks for Davis.

Jayson Tatum says he's controlling what he can control and that he understands the NBA is a business.

“You start to understand that this is a business,” Tatum said. “I play basketball and I just gotta control what I can control. But I love being on the Celtics and I wanna play there my whole career.”

In his second season in the NBA, Tatum is averaging 16.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest. The 20-year-old is shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Jayson Tatum has star potential, and that's why many believe the Pelicans are waiting until the summer so they can acquire him in a Davis trade. Only time will tell if that will actually happen.

Until then, Tatum and the Celtics will try and have a strong second half of the season and advance to the NBA Finals.
