Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving is ecstatic upon knowing that Marcus Smart has been officially upgraded to questionable for tomorrow's Game 4 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Irving said that Smart provides them with a lot of great things, especially on the defensive end. The All-Star guard added that he's excited to see his teammate's potential comeback.

“It’s exciting. He’s a big part of our team. He alleviates a lot of different pressures out there throughout the game and makes my job a lot easier,” Irving said, per Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach

Smart hasn't played for the Celtics since April 7 when he suffered an oblique injury during a regular season game against the Orlando Magic. Initial reports stated that he could miss the first two rounds of the playoffs, but the fact that he's already been listed as questionable for Monday's game is already a welcome sign for the team.

Smart went through 3-on-3 scrimmages last Saturday and was finally cleared for full contact less than 24 hours later. However, a final decision on his status for Game 4 won't be made until closer to tipoff.

If the 25 year-old guard ends up playing in Game 4, the Celtics will have a capable defender to throw at Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. In addition, Smart will be able to help space the floor for Boston, as he shot 36 percent from beyond the arc during the regular season. If he plays without any sign of rust, then his team will have a legitimate chance of tying the series at two games apiece.
