Kyrie Irving is about to release his first signature shoe as a member of the Boston Celtics with his new Irving 4’s set to go out on sale on Dec. 16. The new shoe features a couple of interesting design choices, which include a zig-zag flex grove on the outsole, as well as confetti on the soles to signify the ones Irving stepped on when his Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors last season.

But perhaps the most “eye-catching” of those designs has to be the “All-Seeing Eye” icon located at the back of the tongue, which has an interesting meaning behind it.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that the eye is a knowing wink at Irving’s controversial views about the earth being flat, which made waves during the All-Star break and at other points over the past few months.

While it’s still unclear whether Irving actually does believe the earth is flat, it seems he truly embraces the notion of having an open mind, which the eye represents. And design-wise, it’s a nice touch to a shoe which will look to follow Irving's other three signature sneakers in terms of popularity.
