It's no secret that Romelu Lukaku is not enjoying life at Chelsea. After making the $135 million switch from Inter Milan back to Stamford Bridge last August, things haven't gone to plan for the Belgian. Between injuries and inconsistencies, Lukaku has evidently fallen out of favor under boss Thomas Tuchel, who continues to prefer Kai Havertz up top.

That being said, it appears Chelsea is prepared to cut their losses this summer as Lukaku looks for a new home. Tuchel's latest comments all but confirm his exit as well.

Via Simon Phillips (per James Olley of ESPN):

Thomas Tuchel currently believes Chelsea are a more potent force without Romelu Lukaku and therefore it is not difficult to imagine the club considering transfer offers for him this summer.

This already felt a given, but hearing it from the horse's mouth himself means a lot. The Belgium international barely sees the pitch nowadays, typically coming on as a substitute. He's only bagged five goals in 23 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, with just 13 coming as starts.

The Blues truly thought Lukaku would be the answer to their striker woes following a breathtaking two years in Italy. But, unfortunately, he hasn't adapted to England. We know the 28-year-old is keen on returning to Inter, but it's actually AC Milan who are showing interest in signing the frontman. However, reports indicate Inter is the only club he'd like to play for next.

It's extremely important Romelu Lukaku gets meaningful minutes before the World Cup later this year in Qatar. That will not happen at Chelsea, therefore he must move on. Hopefully, the Blues can at least get a decent chunk of money for his departure.
