Kansas City Chiefs standout defensive lineman Chris Jones recently inked a brand new, multi-year contract in order to remain with the defending Super Bowl Champions. Originally franchise tagged by the Chiefs earlier this offseason, the two sides were ultimately able to beat the July 15th deadline that was attached to such a stipulation.

However, while it took a few months for the Chiefs to agree to a new deal with Jones, the veteran defensive lineman has wasted absolutely no time in making an incredibly bold claim after landing his long-term contract.

“This is only the beginning,” Jones recently said, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. “We plan to have another parade and another parade and another parade. We’re going to make sure we bring not one, not two, not three, not four, but five-plus rings to Kansas City. It’s been 50 years of waiting, but the wait is over now. It’s time to create a dynasty.”

Of course, Jones was a vital piece of the puzzle for the surging Chiefs in 2019 as Kansas City went on to win the team's first Super Bowl title in 50 years. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs offense receiving a ton of praise as it is no doubt quite the prolific group, Jones and company continued to hold down the fort on defense, which helped the seasoned sack specialist earn his new contract.

With the 2020 campaign now looming large, the Chiefs will once again enter the year as one of the favorites to come out of the AFC alongside teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans among a few others.
