The Kansas City Chiefs are sticking it to the Las Vegas Raiders in the first half of their Week 14 rivalry matchup. Jumping out to a 28-0 lead, just about everyone is getting involved in the beatdown of Las Vegas. That includes veteran wide receiver Josh Gordon, who caught a one-yard pass and scampered into the end zone for his first touchdown since Week 1 of 2019.
It wasn't a huge highlight-reel play for Gordon, but seeing the veteran wideout back in the end zone for the first time in more than two years is a sight for sore eyes.
Gordon got yet another chance in the league after multiple suspensions for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The Chiefs picked him up at the start of the year but failed to get the 30-year-old acclimated in the offense. On the year, entering Week 14, Gordon had just two receptions for 18 yards, having had been targeted a total of six times.
Despite his limited involvement thus far into the year, Mahomes threw it to him in a key area without a second thought, and Gordon made the most of the red-zone opportunity, adding six points to Kansas City's early demolition of Las Vegas.
That was touchdown reception No. 21 for Gordon throughout his career. The last time he scored was back in 2019 as a member of the New England Patriots, during the team's Week 1 clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He caught that touchdown pass from Tom Brady, a 20-yard score, to open up the scoring for the Patriots that year.
