The Kansas Chiefs brought in running back LeSean McCoy for the 2019 season.

Things started off looking great. McCoy was producing well. However, by the end of the year, he was not in the rotation anymore. He didn't even make an appearance in Super Bowl LIV.

According to Mike Garafolo on NFL Network, the Chiefs do not plan on bringing back McCoy.

McCoy finished the year with 465 yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries (4.6 yards per carry). He added 28 receptions for 181 yards and another touchdown as well.

Those numbers ended up not meaning much though. And it appears they still aren't all that impressed with that production. Or at least, not enough to bring him back.

This really should not come as a surprise to anyone that watched the Chiefs in 2019. Kansas City clearly started to like Damien Williams as the season went on. So it wouldn't really make sense to bring back McCoy if they felt they found their guy.

At the same time, McCoy is 31 and does likely doesn't have a lot of years left in the tank. So he's going to want to go somewhere that will actually play him.

Therefore, it's unlikely that McCoy would even want to work out a deal with the Chiefs.

With that in mind, there are two things to look out for. First, if Kansas City will be looking into any other running backs. And second, which teams will be interested in bringing in McCoy.
