The Kansas City Chiefs are quickly establishing themselves as one of the teams to look out for this season. The manner with which they won their games has some convinced that this Patrick Mahomes-led team can make a deep run in this year's playoffs.

Moreover, Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia is aware of the threat the Chiefs pose on his team's own undefeated streak. He claims that this Chiefs team is one of the fastest he's seen in his life as a football coach.

Per Dave Birkett in the Detroit Free Press:

“This is one of the fastest teams I’ve seen,” Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia said Tuesday. “And really, obviously, their skill players, whether it’s the wide receivers, the backs, the tight ends, they all push the ball vertically very fast.”

It's not hard to see why Patricia thinks this way. The team is blessed with quick playmakers like Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Damien Williams. However, the ace in the hole is their QB1.

Patrick Mahomes is having an incredible year, defying the trend of quarterbacks petering off after their historic seasons. He's already thrown 1,195 passing yards and 10 touchdowns in only three starts for the Chiefs. It's not impossible for him to easily surpass 5,500 passing yards if he keeps this incredible production up.

However, it's unlikely that the Lions will roll over the red carpet and allow Mahomes to crush them. Patricia has instilled a new mentality within the Lions roster, and that culture change has helped them to an undefeated record this season.

It will be a thrill to watch the new-look Lions try to bring down an incredible Chiefs offense this coming Sunday.
