Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already making massive strides in his recovery from offseason surgery to repair a turf toe issue.

Mahomes was already in good shape as he hoped to partake in the team's minicamp in two weeks. His outlook is even rosier now, which will surely come as a delight to Chiefs fans.

The former NFL MVP claimed he is well ahead of schedule in the recovery process and could even suit up to play a game today, if he had to.

Does this mean Mahomes would be able to participate in 7-on-7 drills and things of that nature? Possibly, though the Chiefs are sure to exhibit caution with respect to his status, anyway.

Still, it is inherently good news for Mahomes to be feeling so good as he hopes to bring Kansas City back to the Super Bowl. Mobility will be something to watch during the offseason, and it might be vastly improved if Mahomes is in the kind of shape he claims to be in.

That last part could make the Chiefs offense all the more terrifying in 2021. Mahomes played through the turf toe issue essentially throughout the playoffs and still managed to be dangerous, even when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers forced him to scramble for his life.

Mahomes has the benefit of knowing he will be taking snaps behind an improved offensive line that added Joe Thuney, Orlando Brown Jr. and Kyle Long to the mix. The weapons are all still there for the Chiefs star, as well.

This might be the beginning of the revenge tour for Mahomes and Co.
