The Kansas City Chiefs suffered another tough loss in Week 5 when they fell 38-20 to the Buffalo Bills at home, but they received positive news in regards to Tyreek Hill's knee injury. Per ESPN, Hill suffered what is being described as a “minor” knee injury, and the Chiefs do not expect their star wide receiver to miss any time.

This may be news to some, but the Chiefs do not have the best depth at the receiver position, so losing Hill for any amount of time due to injury would be a tough blow for a 2-3 Kansas City team to absorb. Hill is fourth in the NFL in receiving yards through Week 5 with 516 yards to go with four touchdowns. No other Chiefs receiver has more than 199 receiving yards, as Travis Kelce is Kansas City's second leading receiver. After losing Sammy Watkins in free agency this offseason, Kansas City does currently have the depth to lose receivers to injury.

The Chiefs will potentially add Josh Gordon to the mix a little bit more in the coming weeks, however. Gordon had just one catch for 11 yards Sunday vs. the Bills, but may provide a different dynamic as a big receiver compared to what the Chiefs already had at the receiver position. Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, and most of the other wideouts on the roster are of the slight/quick build.

The Chiefs will look to get back to their winning ways in Week 6 when they travel to the east coast for a road game vs. the Washington Football Team. Kansas City is a road favorite vs. Washington, and should be in good shape to get back to .500 at 3-3 as they head into the meat of their schedule. Patrick Mahomes has struggled to find his rhythm so far this season, as only Zach Wilson and Trevor Lawrence have more interceptions in 2021 than the former MVP Mahomes.
