The Clemson Tigers will not be the top team in college football after this weekend. The Georgia Bulldogs head to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

According to Clint Shamblin of Locked On Bulldogs and Luke Robinson of Locked On Bama, no matter who wins, they should be listed as the top team in all of college football. The daily Georgia and Alabama podcasts host conducted a crossover episode to discuss the potential impact of the top-five matchup this weekend. Regardless of who wins, both believe they should knock off Clemson for the top spot.

Shamblin: This game will be the toughest team that they play all season with the possible exception of a Clemson or Ohio State in the playoff. Florida is not half the team that Alabama is, we’ve already seen that Auburn is not half the team that Georgia is, LSU is a train wreck. This will be the best team on the schedule with the possible exception of Clemson of Ohio State.

Luke: Whoever wins this game, is the number one team in college football and there won’t be any argument about that.

Shamblin: I think that’s a good point. Whoever wins this game, do you think they should jump Clemson for number one? I do. Oh, 100 percent. They will. It is what it is. I’m not a Clemson hater. They don’t get to decide how bad the rest of the ACC is but the ACC is trash and everyone knows that. The winner of this game absolutely will jump Clemson. There’s nothing that Clemson, Ohio State, or anyone can do to overtake them unless Alabama wins this game and then loses sometime later.
