Through 20 games, the Los Angeles Clippers are 14-6 on the season. That puts them at first place in the rugged Western Conference. No one could have predicted the Clippers would start out this well this season. Despite the hot start, though, head coach Doc Rivers doesn't want his guys to get complacent.

Before the season started, guard Patrick Beverley made a bold statement by saying his Clippers are the best team in Los Angeles. The best player in the world, LeBron James, signed a four-year deal with the Lakers this summer. That still didn't stop Beverley from claiming the Clippers will be better than James and the Lakers, and you have to appreciate the confidence.

Entering Thursday, the Clippers are averaging 116.8 points per game, which is fourth in the NBA. Doc Rivers says he likes where his team is at right now, but believes they can get even better over time.

The Clippers are led by small forward Tobias Harris, who is one of the most underrated and low-maintenance players in the league. The 26-year-old is averaging 21.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor and 43.2 percent from beyond the arc. Harris will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer and figures to get paid handsomely.

Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell bring scoring and energy off the bench. Beverley and Avery Bradley are two of the best wing defenders in the NBA. Rookie guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has exceeded expectations and looks like a solid player. Combine all of that with the fact that there are no egos in the locker room anymore, and it's easy to see why the Clippers have gotten off to such a stellar start.
