Former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant general manager Trent Redden is slated to join the L.A. Clippers in the same role, according to ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz. Redden and team target Michael Winger, who is nearing terms with the team, worked together in Cleveland and could be in line to work together again, this time under president Lawrence Frank, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Redden was former Cavs general manager David Griffin's right-hand man and was part of the decision-making in the organization for the last 11 years. The two shot-callers were dismissed together as owner Dan Gilbert looked for a different managerial set for the franchise.

Redden first joined Cleveland in 2006 as a basketball operations intern. He was then hired full time the following year and worked his way up to senior vice president of basketball operations, holding different titles within the organization — from director of player personnel to his latest promotion to assistant general manager in 2013.

One of the youngest minds in the executive world, Redden already boasts a wealth of experience and should be a refreshing change for the Clippers, who have shuffled the pieces amid the Chris Paul trade and the renouncement of Doc Rivers' title as team president.

The Lawrence Frank era should bring a different vision to the team and a different set of ideas alongside Redden and potentially Winger, if talks are successful.
