LA Clippers small forward Luc Mbah a Moute has only played in four games this season due to a knee injury, but it looks like the 11-year veteran will be back on the court soon.

Luc Mbah a Moute signed a one-year, $4.32 million with the Clippers in July after spending last season with the Houston Rockets.

In the four games he played in this year, Mbah a Moute averaged 5.0 points and 1.8 rebounds while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 40.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Offense has never been Mbah a Moute's strong suit. His play on the defensive end of the floor and the leadership he displays in the locker room are what make him valuable in the NBA.

Just look at how different the Rockets have looked this season on defense. The departure of Mbah a Moute is a big reason why Houston isn't an elite defensive team anymore.

The Clippers are 19-14 on the season, fourth place in the Western Conference standings. LA has the fourth-best offense in the NBA, averaging 115.6 points per game, but they are giving up 114.6 points per night — that's 25th in the league.

The return of Mbah a Moute is expected to help the team improve on the defensive side of the ball.
