Marcin Gortat made headlines yesterday when he delivered Twitter clapbacks to trolls. Now, he's using social media for a more emotional reason. Following the trade deadline, Gortat was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers, and he took to Instagram to thank the organization.

Gortat went on to say that while he wished he could finish the season in Los Angeles, he ‘understands how this business works.' He concluded the post by thanking the brass for everything, and claiming that ‘once a Clipper, always a Clipper!'

According to Yahoo! Sports, Gortat is interested in teaming up with the Warriors once he clears waivers.

Throughout the season, Gortat has made 43 starts and is averaging 5.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. He is 15th in the NBA in screen assists (3.6) despite the fact that he is playing only 16.0 minutes per game. But fans will best remember Gortat for the incident in 2017, where he threw down Zaza Pachulia, who fell into Kevin Durant's left leg, which resulted in KD's Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise.

It's unclear if, or when, Gortat will meet with the Warriors, but his long-term plan to play for the team has a bit of a wrinkle. The Warriors have made clear that they aren't quite ready to fill its open roster spot and wants to see how the rest of the buyout market shakes out.
