The NBA drama never ceases to get interesting, especially now that the trade deadline is quickly approaching. During this time, players from all positions can be moved around to other teams in exchange for pieces that will help teams win now. After all, that is the point of the trade deadline. On Monday night, the Los Angeles Clippers did the unthinkable. They traded away Blake Griffin, their franchise star, to the Detroit Pistons. While all of this is fair under the NBA's rules, it doesn't make too much sense, especially since the Clippers signed Griffin to a five-year $176 million deal in the off-season. The very organization that committed to Griffin ended up being the one that traded him mid-season. Of course, some people took offense to the transaction. That included former L.A. Clipper, Matt Barnes, who went off on Doc Rivers and the Clippers organization for trading Griffin.

He does have a point. It's a mystery why the Clippers traded away a player that they invested millions and initially their future into. However, Barnes points out that Doc Rivers is actually the problem in L.A. This statement isn't without merit. Players from Chris Paul to Glenn Davis all criticized Rivers and the Clippers organization on multiple occasions. Therefore, it goes to show that not everyone is happy with Rivers' coaching style. Though, Barnes is now retired and hasn't played with the Clippers in quite some time. He is simply expressing his opinion and there is no reason to believe that Rivers is the Clippers' problem until more proof has been given.
