After the Los Angeles Clippers traded Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets, they eventually signed Milos Teodosic to a two-year, $12.3 million deal. In the preseason, Teodosic averaged 6.8 points and 5.5 assists in 24.9 minutes to help usher a new era in franchise history.

Unfortunately, the 30-year-old point guard suffered a plantar fascia injury in his left foot two games into the 2017-18 NBA season. After already missing 16 games, it appears Teodosic will miss more time according to Broderick Turner of Los Angeles Times:

Teodosic is not expected back until after Christmas.

Considering the current state of the Clippers, it is extremely difficult news, but head coach Doc Rivers will remain patient. As Patrick Beverley recently underwent surgery to repair a microfracture and meniscus injury to his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season, Austin Rivers has been the team's starting point guard.

After losing nine consecutive games, the Clippers have rebounded, winning their last two games against the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings. As they prepare for the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 27, perhaps the crosstown rivalry will help them get back to their winning ways.

Teodosic averaged 5.5 points and 4.0 assists in two appearances.
