Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George hasn't played since Dec. 22 because of a torn UCL in his right elbow. There was speculation that George could wind up missing the rest of the season, but he still seems to be on track to return at some point in March.

Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes said as much last week during a TNT broadcast, and The Athletic's Law Murray reiterated that notion this week:

Optimism has been guarded but positive for George this month, who has been resting his elbow but otherwise working out and staying in shape for the past several weeks in anticipation of a possible return in March, sources told The Athletic.

The Clippers star is undergoing an MRI on Friday to determine the next steps. If all goes well with that, George will ramp things up and should be back on the court in the next few weeks.

It's unclear if Kawhi Leonard will join George back on the court this season, assuming all is well with that MRI, but even just getting PG-13 back would be a huge boost for a Clippers team that has been battling hard despite so much adversity. LA is 30-31 on the season despite Leonard being out all season and George missing two months.

If both players come back, the Clippers immediately become a major threat in the Western Conference. LA is crossing its fingers for good news on the George front heading into the weekend.
