The Los Angeles Clippers have leaned on star forward Paul George an awful lot this year, with fellow forward Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely. Unfortunately, the Clippers will have to navigate the next several weeks without the services of George after the team got a crushing injury update on their star.

Clippers forward Paul George has suffered a torn ligament in his right elbow and is expected to miss at least the next 3-to-4 weeks, per ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly. George will then be re-evaluated as the Clippers decide on the next steps.

It's a huge blow to a Clippers team that is currently fifth in the tough Western Conference. George, 31, has put up numbers reminiscent of the MVP-level campaign that he put together for the Oklahoma City Thunder back in 2018.

George has averaged 24.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game in 26 contests this year. The Clippers star is just one of many contributors who will be sidelined for Los Angeles. He had missed several games due to an elbow sprain this past week, though the ailment was clearly far worse than the team initially expected.

Already down Leonard and now George, the Clippers will have to make do without their two stars, as well as Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson, both of whom are in the league's health and safety protocols.

The Paul George injury is a devastating development for the Clippers.
