In a heavily anticipated matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers finally battled with their respective duo headliners — LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and Clippers' Kawhi Leonard and Paul George respectively — all on the court for the first time. When asked about possible playoff matchups between the two teams, Paul George believes that it's a good thing, especially because “you want to compete against the best.” True enough, Sunday night's matchup was a treat for the viewers.

Paul George led the Clippers with 31 points, six boards, and three steals. Kawhi Leonard, on the other hand, had a decent scoring night with 27. However, he finished only with 2 boards as opposed to his usual 7.5 per game. Additionally, for the first time this season, the superstar forward did not record a single assist.

The Clippers generally did not move the ball well throughout the matchup, ending the game with 15 turnovers, three more than their 12 assists. The team also had just four assists in the second half. Additionally, Lou Williams struggled with only 3-of-11 from the field. Moreover, recent acquisition Marcus Morris went 0-of-9 from the field. Leonard noted after the game that they “didn't play with too much pace tonight.”

On the other hand, Anthony Davis led the Lakers in scoring with 30 points, along with eight boards and two steals. LeBron James had a usual all-around performance, with 28 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. Notably, Avery Bradley also poured in 24 points and two steals. Consequently, their team finished the game with 22 assists against the Clippers.

Despite fans arguing on who will make a championship run, it is clear that any game between the two teams will be exciting.
