The LA Clippers practiced Saturday for the first time since January 5th. It also marked the first time since late December that Paul George was seen doing any kind of activity with a basketball.

About 25 minutes prior to practice, George was seen speaking with assistant coach Brian Shaw and taking warm up jumpers, but not with his right hand. Paul George is dealing with a torn UCL in his right elbow, and the team has elected for rest to see how he recovers before deciding on next steps.

If this video of him taking left handed jumpers is any indication, the team is still having him take it easy with his right arm.

George extended his range, taking 16 footers with his left hand.

Paul George suffered the elbow injury on December 6th in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers. he missed five games before returning against the San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings before getting three days off for Christmas. On December 25th, George underwent an MRI, which revealed a torn UCL.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Clippers were extending George's four-week rest period another couple of weeks to see how his elbow responds. Head coach Tyronn Lue said Paul George is scheduled to undergo an MRI shortly after the All-Star break on February 24th.

Despite not having their two stars in George and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers have put together a 27-27 record through 54 games and are likely to finish as a play-in team.

“I think the biggest thing is with Kawhi being out all year, and PG not knowing what's gonna happen with PG, the hardest thing for players, when your best two players are out — when you hear Kawhi's gonna be out for a week or three days, you can muster that energy up, you can find a way to win games and continue to come in every single day and have positive vibes, but the enjoyment I get from this team, we know Kawhi's probably not gonna come back, we don't know the status of PG, but these guys continue to keep fighting. Every single night. And so that's kind of how I had to play, that's how I had to make it, so just seeing how these guys scrap and compete every single night, just makes me feel good — that's the enjoyment I get from coaching this team.”

The Clippers' next game comes against the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday night.
