LA Clippers star Paul George believes that the league has moved on from the ‘Big Three'-led teams and that this generation calls for duos as the new dynamic.

George recalled the time when teams were retooling their roster revolving around three superstars. While some found relative success, it wasn't enough to snag the title at the end of the season.

“Everybody was looking for a Big Three,” George said, per Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press via nba.com. “It didn't work for a lot of teams, so now this is a new dynamic for the new generation of this league.”

George pointed out the Boston Celtics big three which comprised of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen and how they were able to win the title. It was then followed by the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.

“I think what Boston did was special. I think what Miami did was special,” he said. “But I think it goes back to you have two guys that are the guys and then you have a group around them that supports them to the highest level, and that foundation is around a lot of guys in this league.”

Over the summer, at least three star duos mushroomed: Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in Brooklyn, Russell Westbrook and James Harden in Oklahoma, and Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in LA.

These new teams have to be tested for them to be considered a success. But from George's perspective, this is the new formula and the new norm. Once the wins pile up, other teams will soon follow suit.
