It's easy to see where Lowe is coming from here. As bad as he played, Paul George is still arguably one of the 20 best players in the NBA. At his peak, PG13 is a terrific two-way star and as Professor Zach said, finished in the top-5 in MVP voting just last season.
Paul George certainly doesn't need a ton of motivation to prove his haters and naysayers wrong. The man probably heard it all, especially after the Clippers bowed out to the Denver Nuggets in embarrassing fashion the the Western Conference semi-finals. From “Wayoff P” to “Pandemic P,” fans abused George on social media with all sorts of nicknames.
Paul George certainly played a huge part in the Clippers' demise, which prevented a highly anticipated showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. In the deciding Game 7, PG scored just 10 points on an horrid 4-of-16 shooting performance, including 2-of-11 from beyond the arc.
Furthermore, reports also claimed that some of Paul George's Clippers teammates side-eyed him as he said his season-ending spiel following their playoff exit.
Lowe believes Paul George will be able to do a 180 next season.
