The NBA is officially back, and naturally, the controversial nature of the sport is once again alive and kicking. Well, that's at least what Los Angeles Clippers supporters think, as their team suffered a disappointing 103-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night.

According to some Clippers fans, a whistle should have been called on LeBron James on his defensive play on Paul George as the latter went up for a potentially game-winning triple.

Some believe — including George himself — that he was pushed off by LeBron during his take-off, which had a significant effect on his wide-open miss. If you watch the play closely, James did have his arm on George. However, it does not seem that there was enough contact for a foul to be called. The referees seem to agree with this notion, as they did not even bother reviewing the play.

One of the comments — from what appears to be a Lakers fan, of course — points out how George only started complaining once he saw his shot miss. Fair point, sir.

Whatever the case may be, LeBron needs to be credited for putting the lock on the Clippers' star players in Kawhi Leonard and George on this final play. James also scored LA's go-ahead basket on the previous play, and despite a rather pedestrian outing for him, the Lakers superstar stepped it up for his team in the clutch when it mattered most.
