Colby Covington somehow still has strong ties to his former gym American Top Team. So strong in fact that he has a mole that revealed to him the injury that forced Jorge Masvidal out of UFC 269.

In MMA, it's common practice to not reveal injuries, whether after fights or even during training camp. You never know who can use that information against you. Especially in the UFC.

Colby Covington was the one that broke the news that Jorge Masvidal's injury was a rib injury. Something that had to reignite their beef in the UFC.

Covington recently spoke to James Lynch of MMANews and revealed who his mole was at American Top Team. Somehow it shouldn't come as a surprise…

“Yeah, Dan [Lambert] told me about Jorge’s [fractured] rib,” UFC welterweight Covington confirmed.

Dan Lambert is the owner of ATT and was also Colby Covington's manager until the UFC welterweight left the gym. The two appear to still be close despite Covington heading in a different direction on both fronts.

There is no doubt that Lambert is a huge wrestling fan. He has been teaming up with AEW and having his fighters compete in Pro Wrestling. The UFC fight Jorge Masvidal is a storyline right out of Pro Wrestling.

It is unclear how UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal feels about Lambert leaking the news to his heated rival. There could be a potential for Masvidal to look in a different direction.

It is clear that Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are on a collision course in the UFC. Fans want to see the fight and the two men have been wanting to go at each other for a long time.
