The NFL and the players are relieved that they don't have to go through another lockout as the latest CBA proposal by the league was welcomed by the players. However, Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard is a voice that many other players throughout the league can relate with. He believes that the newly minted CBA is not pro-player at all.

The CBA was ratified by only a slim margin of players, so it's clear that not everyone is thrilled by the new rules added by the CBA. The main issue that Leonard and the players who voted against the agreement was the addition of a 17th game to the NFL season. He believes that the season is already hectic as it is. Adding one more game to the season will only drain the energy out of the players even more.

Colts Wire's Kevin Hickey covered that Leonard felt “so hot” about the issue. He feels that his fellow players got too distracted by the other benefits that the CBA brought to the table. Fans may understand his viewpoint as he missed three games this past season.

Besides the additional regular season game, there will also be a couple of interesting changes. According to USA Today, the preseason will be shortened by one game, making the fourth week a bye week. However, the benefits were pretty good: player revenue increased to 48%, there has been a lax on drug and disciplinary charges, roster sizes will be increased, and seven teams per conference will now be able to participate in the playoffs.

Other players will continue to raise their concerns with the CBA as the days pass on, but no one will be able to really tell what will happen until the 2020 season begins in earnest.
