The Indianapolis Colts received some rough news earlier this week when it was announced that quarterback Carson Wentz was placed on the reserve/COVID list. Wentz, who is unvaccinated, was considered highly unlikely to play against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17. However, the NFL implemented a change to the COVID protocols, one that would benefit a player in Wentz' situation. As it turns out, the Colts received a huge Carson Wentz COVID update on Saturday ahead of their Week 17 game against the Raiders.

This is a huge Carson Wentz COVID update for the Colts ahead of their Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Per Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus, Wentz has been activated off of the reserve/COVOD list.

While Wentz isn't officially in line to play against the Raiders yet, he is likely to suit up for the Colts so long as he clears the COVID protocols Sunday morning ahead of the contest.

Under the old COVID protocols, Wentz would have had to remain in quarantine for at least 10 days, but since the NFL implemented new CDC-recommended guidelines of a five-day quarantine, the Colts signal-caller is now in position to play in a critical game against Las Vegas.

Wentz is coming off of a solid effort last week against the Arizona Cardinals on Christmas Day, as he threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns en route to the Colts' third straight victory.

As unlikely as it appeared several days ago, Colts quarterback Carson Wentz is now trending towards playing in Week 17 against the Raiders.
