Darius Leonard is an All-Pro talent himself and he likes what he's seen from his new teammate, DeForest Buckner. While he hasn't been able to meet him yet, the Indianapolis Colts star linebacker is excited to work with Buckner.

“Having DeForest come onto the team and help our defense out, he’s a complete dog. Watching his tape, he has a motor that doesn’t stop,” Leonard said, via NFL Network.

In his first two seasons with the Colts, Leonard has been nothing short of spectacular at inside linebacker. The South Carolina State product has combined for 284 tackles and 12 sacks. He's also flashed his ball skills, forcing 15 pass breakups, seven interceptions, and six forced fumbles in the past two seasons.

On the other hand, Buckner has evolved into one of the premier interior defenders in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. In the past two seasons alone, the former No. 7 pick has accumulated 19.5 sacks, 34 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles.

Following his impressive season in 2019, the Colts knew they had to make an offer for him. Therefore, they elected to surrender the No. 13 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft for the Pro Bowl defensive tackle. Also, to show their confidence in him, Indianapolis signed Buckner to a new contract worth $21 million annually.

The coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult for players to meet their new teammates this offseason. With Leonard not being able to meet Buckner face-to-face, he's been watching film on the gifted interior defender. It's safe to say that Leonard is ecstatic to have Buckner pave the way for him in the middle of the defensive line.
