Indianapolis Colts majority owner Jim Irsay went on Twitter Friday to give his thoughts on what makes a team the greatest. He proposed that the greatest team of all time would win three championships in a row.

No NFL team has done this. The New England Patriots have won two in a row, but not three. Perhaps Irsay is sending somewhat of a dig towards Robert Kraft and the Patriots organization. Many consider them to be the best dynasty of the modern era, however, Irsay likes to think otherwise.

Irsay went on to clarify his statement a bit.

Last season, the Colts barely squeaked into the NFL playoffs. It took them seven wins in their last eight games to reserve a schedule beyond Week 17. The run was quite remarkable. Andrew Luck had a nine-game stretch from Week 4 to 12 where he threw three or more touchdown passes. This streak was the longest in the NFL this past season and tied for the second longest in league history.

Luck this past year ranked top five in the NFL for touchdowns, attempts, completions, and yards. He threw for a total of 4,593 yards with 39 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. His completion percentage sat at an efficient 67.3 percent and his quarterback rating was a 71.5. Both of these were the highest marks of his career.

The Colts on the season went 10-6 and finished 2nd in the AFC South Division. Their offense averaged 27.1 points per game, which ranks 4th overall in the entire NFL. It will be intriguing to see if Luck is able to lead them to the playoffs yet again.
