Indianapolis Colts cornerback Xavier Rhodes abruptly became an unrestricted free agent this offseason as his time with the Minnesota Vikings ultimately came to a screeching halt. Released by the Vikings a few weeks ago, Rhodes then inked a one-year free agent contract with the aforementioned Colts, which will give the longtime Minnesota defensive back a chance to rejuvenate his NFL playing career before presumably testing the open market once again next offseason.

Looking on the bright side as it stands today, Rhodes seems happy to be given a fresh start in Indianapolis. Not only that, but the Colts newcomer is ready to embrace his new role in Indianapolis.

“It’s great to have those types of guys on the defense, because they know what it takes to win, they know what it takes to be the best,” Rhodes recently told Matt Taylor of the Colts' official website. “We can teach the younger guys how to be pros, how to be professionals and how to get to that level, and once you have a whole team of guys wanting to work that hard and accomplish that and we’re all on one page and one accord, the sky’s the limit.”

Despite reaching three Pro Bowls in addition to being selected as an All-Pro back in 2017, the Colts cornerback struggled mightily in what would become his final years as a member of the Vikings. If Rhodes can rebound with the Colts, though, there will definitely be more than a few suitors lined up next offseason.
