Washington may have changed its team name, but controversies still continue to follow the Commanders, particularly team owner Dan Snyder. And in light of a new sexual harassment allegation by a former team employee, Snyder has decided to make a move to shed more light on the issue with the hope that his name will be cleared of any wrongdoings.

Via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Commanders owner Dan Snyder is hiring an independent investigative team, led by former Asst. U.S. Attorneys Bonnie Jonas and Tiffany Moller of Pallas Global Group LLC, to look into allegations made last week by Tiffani Johnston during her time with the team, per a team official.

Schefter also adds:

Washington said it is committed to a thorough and independent investigation of Johnston's allegation, and pledges full cooperation with the investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, Pallas Global Group will release the findings to the public.

Speaking to members of congress, Tiffani Johnson, Washington's former marketing and events coordinator said that she was harassed by Snyder during a team dinner. She also said that Snyder tried to force her into riding a limousine with him, but the team owner was stopped by his attorney.

Washington has constantly found itself engulfed in controversies during the Snyder era. The Commanders, formerly the Redskins and the Football Team, have been investigated by the NFL for allegations of letting toxicity run rampant in the workplace and permitting a culture of sexual harassment, misogyny, and racism.
