It's been almost exactly one year since we last saw Conor McGregor fighting in the Octagon. The UFC legend underwent successful surgery on July 11, 2021, just hours after sustaining a serious leg injury in his fight against Dustin Poirier. During the first round of the fight, McGregor's broken leg gave out and folded underneath him.

He has been rehabbing and there had been reports that his return was imminent. UFC President Dana White poured cold water on that sentiment recently, saying that he is beginning to ramp up his workouts and that McGregor is hopeful to return to the Octagon later this year or early in 2023.

Nevertheless, McGregor is not one to pull punches, whether that's in a fight or on social media.

McGregor's camp had said they were eyeing Michael Chandler as the potential opponent when he does return. Chandler recently snapped a two-fight losing streak with a TKO of Tony Ferguson at UFC 274 in May.

The Notorious One interestingly posted a video last November where he appeared to be stalking Max Holloway from his living room. Holloway was about to begin his fight on television. It was a bizarre thing to watch, just like this was a bizarre tweet to read.

Conor McGregor is an all-time great, but has seen his legacy tarnish a bit over the last few years. His career record in the UFC is 22-6 with 19 wins via knockout. However, he has lost three of his last four fights and four of the last six. Some of his invincibility ended when Khabib Nurmagomedov made quick work of him during UFC 229 back in 2018.

McGregor is 33 years old and likely does not have much of a career left.
