UFC superstar Conor McGregor was left irate by Khabib Nurmagomedov's comments in the aftermath of UFC 257 at Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

The Irish fighter lost in brutal fashion to Dustin Poirier in the second round, prompting Khabib to post some spicy words against his bitter rival after the match.

McGregor was made aware of this in the post-fight press conference and immediately challenged the retired Russian to a rematch.

“If he wants to have his disrespectful comments, come back and let's go again, my man. I'm here for it. That's fighting talk. If you're coming back, come back. You try and do it,” he said.

It seems that the bad blood between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is still boiling more than two years removed from their UFC Lightweight title bout back in 2018. The Eagle retained his title after choking out McGregor in four rounds. The undefeated MMA star went on to defend his belt two more times after that fight with McGregor before retiring last October.

Conor McGregor, on the other hand, has already vowed to be more active and wants to fight again this year. If that blockbuster rematch with Khabib is not in the cards, there are still plenty of intriguing match-ups in the division. There's former interim champion Justin Gathje who is also coming off a loss, while newcomer Michael Chandler also sent out quite the statement in his UFC debut in the co-main event.
