The Dallas Cowboys came up short against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round. Unfortunately, defensive tackle Antwaun Woods suffered more than just a playoff loss.

Woods had left the game momentarily before returning to finish the game. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, it was revealed that he suffered a torn labrum versus the Rams:

Cowboys DT Antwaun Woods tore his labrum during the second quarter of the Rams game and had surgery today to repair it, source said. He played the rest of the game with the ailment.

This is certainly an unfortunate turn of events for Woods. Last week's game was a bit of a homecoming for him after returning to play at the Coliseum as he did during his days at USC. However, he left his hometown with a loss and an injured shoulder.

Regardless, there is no question that the 2018 NFL season was a successful one for Woods. He has come a long way since going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. Woods spent the first two years of his career struggling to get snaps with the Tennessee Titans before being waived prior to the 2018 campaign. He has now established himself as another promising, young talent on this formidable Cowboys defense.

Dallas still has yet to give a specific timetable for Woods' return. Given the nature of his injury, it is safe to assume he will be back for offseason training camp. Both Woods and the Cowboys will have even higher expectations for themselves come next season.
