It is with a heavy heart to announce that legendary football icon John Madden passed away on Tuesday. Madden might be the most influential person in football history and has certainly played a huge part on the Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the longtime Cowboys owner had this to say,

Jerry Jones and John Madden have a very long history together that has seen both of them working in the NFL for many years together. Jerry Jones reaction just shows the type of person that Madden was as he released a very heartfelt message.
Mr. Madden has been an icon in the NFL world for a very long time as he's a Super Bowl champion, Pro Football Hall of Famer, winningest coach in Raiders history, one of the best broadcasters of all time, and the face of the Madden franchise football game.
Jerry Jones notes that if anybody knew John Madden, “he made their life better. He was a teacher, and above all, a very dear friend. When he walked into the room it was a better day.” Jones is just one of many people who are already releasing statements and noting the type of impact that Madden had on their lives.
He will surely be missed and it's an unfortunate loss for the football world. He certainly left the football world better than he found it and he will look down being proud of what he has been able to give back to this world.
