The Dallas Cowboys lost their 2021 season opener to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Thursday, but Dak Prescott believes they will have their revenge sooner rather than later.

After the hard-fought contest that saw the Bucs escape with a narrow 31-29 win, Prescott went to Brady to congratulate his fellow quarterback for one hell of a showing. After exchanging pleasantries, though, the Cowboys QB said they will see Tampa Bay squad once again.

Did Dak Prescott just promise a playoff berth for the Cowboys and another round with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers? It sure seems like it.

To recall, Dallas missed the playoffs in 2020 after a horrible 6-10 record that saw them finish third in the NFC East. Of course a huge reason for that was Prescott's severe ankle injury that ended his campaign after just five games, though there aren't really a lot of positives to be taken from the previous season.

Prescott has a reason to be optimistic about the Cowboys' playoff chances, though. Despite the loss, he put on a great performance that almost gave them the W. Sure, ā€œalmostā€ is not enough but his three 403 yards and touchdowns on 42-of-558 pass completion rate got to raise the hopes up of the Dallas faithful.

It remainsĀ  to be seen if Prescott can walk the talk, but it's certainly a storyline worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses. Besides, who doesn't want another Dak-Tom showdown after that epic opener?
