The Dallas Cowboys suffered a huge blow as offensive lineman Joe Looney sustained a sprained MCL injury in his right knee which could sideline him up to three weeks and will be monitored on a week-to-week basis, according to Calvin Watkins of Dallas News.

The nine-year veteran came to the team at the same time as Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott back in 2016 and has been providing reliable pass protection for the gunslinger ever since.

The Cowboys had themselves a rough start to the season after having a roster overhaul on both sides of the field during the offseason. They are currently heading into Week 5 proceedings with a 1-3 record in the early stages of the season.

America's Team lost to the Los Angeles Rams on a 20-17 nail-biting encounter in their opening game. The squad bounced back after taking advantage of a blown 19-point lead by the Atlanta Falcons to steal the game on a 40-39 outcome.

The dominant Seattle Seahawks stopped the Cowboys on their tracks and dealt them a 38-31 defeat in their Week 3 matchup. Aiming to bounce back from the loss, Prescott balled out with 502 passing yards on 41-of-58 passes completed along with four passing touchdowns and an interception against the Cleveland Browns.

His efforts were still not enough as the Cowboys were overpowered by their opponents' scoring exhibition. They ultimately suffered a 49-38 loss in Week 4 to drop to a 1-3 record.

Without Joe Looney at their disposal, the Cowboys will still aim to snag wins against the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and the Washington Football Team over the next three weeks of their schedule.
