Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott might have just put himself in a losing situation. Apparently, there is an ongoing bet in the locker room with regards to which will perform better between the team's offense and defense.

The rule is quite simple: offense wins with touchdowns, defense with takeaways.

Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence reminded Prescott of the bet on Saturday before their Week 15 showdown with the New York Giants on Sunday, and sure enough, it was  the defense that delivered once again. Prescott admitted as much, highlighting how Lawrence and Co. are “kicking our ass.”

“They obviously won this one. …They’re on top right now …” the Cowboys signal-caller said. per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

Well, that is certainly one way to motivate each other. While we don't know the full details and what's at stake in the bet, we can only hope that both sides keep it up.

The Cowboys' defense forced four turnovers against the Giants, while Dak Prescott and the offense only had two touchdowns in the game–one passing and one rushing. And by the looks of it, the defense will easily win the bet.

For what it's worth, the Week 15 game is already the third straight outing that the Cowboys' defense has four takeaways, all while the offense continues to be up and down.

It remains to be seen if Prescott can still bounce back in the final three games of the campaign, but he certainly should be prepared for the worst with the defense more motivated than ever.
