The Dallas Cowboys want nothing more than to have star quarterback Dak Prescott back on the field and full healthy this coming season.
While the former seems like a foregone conclusion, it's the latter that Cowboys fans have to worry about. The latest soundbite from ESPN's Adam Schefter only heightens their fears. The trusted NFL insider was reporting during halftime of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Arizona Cardinals preseason game
“He’s not fully back, he may not be back all season long,” said Schefter of the Cowboys QB.
After a season cut short last year due to his compound fracture and then a more recent shoulder strain, it's been an uphill battle for the Cowboys star's injury recovery.
Prescott and the Cowboys are fresh off signing a monster extension that secures the quarterback's future is in Dallas. The deal was for four years and $160 million and all this despite the injury he had just suffered.
Given the way Dak Prescott is built, he's still going to put his body on the line in trying to get wins on the board for the Cowboys and show he's worth every penny. But Cowboys brass need to ease him in as slowly as he needs to, in order to make sure being “fully back” remains an option for the rest of his career.
