The Dallas Cowboys are hiring New York Giants tight end coach Lunda Wells to the same position, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
An in-division-coaching change: Giants’ TE coach Lunda Wells is being hired as the Dallas Cowboys’ TE coach, per league source.

Wells became the Giants tight end coach in 2018. Before being promoted to tight ends coach he spent five seasons as an assistant offensive line coach. He also spent time with the LSU Tigers as an assistant offensive line coach.
This will actually be his second stint with the Cowboys. Before the 2010 season offensive intern during training camp. A lot of tight end coaches aren't talked about but he is going to have a big job with Dallas. Blake Jarwin and Dalton Schultz are both young players who need a lot of development.
Article Continues BelowThe Cowboys are also facing big questions about if Jason Witten will return to the team. There were some who wondered if Witten would be the team's next tight end coach after he made clear if he retires he would like to get into coaching.
“Right here,” Witten said, via the New York Post. “I’ve spent my entire adulthood in pro football. Coaching is coaching. You want to be in a competitive level. … For me, I think this is a level you can have a lot of success in just because you’re so familiar with it. Really your whole life.”
Witten hasn't announced if he will continue playing but if he wants to continue his time with the Cowboys it looks like it's going to have to be on the field. If he is back that will be a big boost to the tight end room.
