After 20 years in the NBA, Kobe Bryant, formerly of the Los Angeles Lakers, chose to retire in 2016 leaving behind an incredible legacy as one of the greatest players in league history. Bryant's toughness and longevity are a major part of his legacy and it appears Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys is getting some comparisons to the five-time NBA champion.

Apparently, Cowboys safety Kavon Frazier thinks highly of his teammate who is still going strong heading into his 15th year in Dallas. Frazier compared the longtime Cowboys tight end to Bryant recently, according to Jori Epstein of the Dallas Morning News.

At 35, Witten is embarking on yet another season with America's Team as he hopes to continue being a major part of the franchise's recent success. Witten's long-term future with the Cowboys was uncertain until this past March when he agreed to a contract extension.

The 10-time Pro Bowler agreed to a four-year extension with the team meaning if he plays out this contract it'll expire in 2021 with the veteran tight end nearing 40 years old.

Although it seems risky for a title contender to make this kind of a deal with an aging veteran, Witten is the ideal example of durability in the NFL. The Tennessee product has missed only one regular-season game in his career which came all the way back in his rookie season in 2003.
